I so love creating promo materials for folks — especially when I know them well… like “a-hem” my husband… I had a really fun time making the postcard and new poster for his upcoming show. In today’s economic climate businesses have to think carefully about their promotional expenditures. Many look to low cost promotional items. I’ve found that keeping things low-cost often leads to creative thinking… I created a design this past year and found an online company that could print 100 tote-bags with the design for less than $150…. talk about a steal… and it was a FANTASTIC wedding favor (sorry kids, we didn’t spend THAT much). I think it’s great to know a few key resources when designing and creating on a budget. I just got Davids promo postcards in the mail for his show. Of COURSE I would have loved to letterpress each one. Or I suppose I could have printed them at home, but honestly my inks are SO expensive. I’ve found that Vistaprint, and other inexpensive online printers, do the job just fine, and at a fraction of the cost. So I guess research research research…. and see if you can’t find your own bargins for some fast, & cheap print jobs. And if you want some suggestions, let me know! Enjoy the promo pieces I’ve made so far… and hope to see you at the show!
